About

I am a Postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Thermomechanics of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague, Czech Republic. I run numerical simulations of flow in the atmosphere. I also try to predict pullutants in air using machine learning models.

I am also a teacher of the Flow in Atmospheric Boundary Layer course at the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague.

I am interested in data analysis and visualization , numerical modeling and machine learning models.

I enjoy running, baking, and hiking.

Skills

I enjoy programming in Python for analysing and visualization of data. I worked with NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, Selenium, Matplotlib and other packages. I have also some experiences in R, Matlab and C++. For web development, I know how to use HTML, CSS and a little bit of JavaScript.

I love writing documents and presentations in LaTeX, but I also know how to use MS Office/LibreOffice. For numerical modelling of flow in the atmosphere, I use OpenFOAM with FreeCAD for creating geometry and ParaView for vizualization of results.

Education

I obtained my Ph.D. in 2015 at the Czech University of Life Sciences, Prague. The topic of my dissertation thesis was Application of Optimization Methods in Hydrological Modelling. During my studies, I spent 10 months at the Wageningen University in Netherlands studying the first year of the Earth and Environment MSc. study program.

I completed my master's and bachelor's degree at the Czech University of Life Sciences, Prague. The topic of my master thesis was Application of Snowmelt runoff model in chosen catchments in the Czech Republic. The topic of my bachelor thesis was Monitoring of water quality at the experimental catchment Bílá Smědá in Jizera Mountain.

Work Experience

Since 2014, I am an employee of the Institute of Thermomechanics of the Czech Academy of Sciences. At first, I was a Doctoral student (12/2014-12/2015), and since 01/2016, I am a Postdoctoral researcher. The main content of my job is numerical modeling of flow in the atmosphere. I also apply for grants and write scientific articles.

Since 2015, I am the main lecturer of the course Flow in Atmospheric Boundary Layer. I teach this course in English and since 2023 also in Czech language.
